My dvd player (standalone) says it will play DVD-R. Before I looked this up I bought DVD+R for my new burner that burns both formats.
My dvd player plays them fine. (I'm not complaining a bit, I think its wonderful. Of course the -R format works also) I am just wondering how this is possible.
How does the player read the +R format? Isn't it like a PC trying to read an Apple file?
Is this typical?
Also should I switch to the DVD-R?
Which format will be more compatible in the future if I need to buy a new DVD player?
Thanks...
