    Sounds crackles/pops in DVD playback

    This is strange my sound works flawlessly no matter what I do EXCEPT playing back DVDs. When I put a DVD in the drive the sound immediately starts cracking and popping and sounds just all-around bad. I'm using an Nforce2-based motherboard and am using the onboard sound. This just started a couple weeks ago, if that. Before, I never had any trouble with DVD-playback. Any ideas on what I may have done to cause this?

      Have you, in the last couple of weeks, installed any .AC3 codecs, or altered any sound settings?

      If your O/S is WinXP, perform a "system restore" to the most recent time DVD audio played back properly...

          It's been a long time since I've installed any codecs.
