    WinDVD 5 disable subtitles

    Hi,
Any way to actually disable subtitles when playing a DVD from a hard drive? I have to return to the first chapter or a different menu item as the disable function doesn't work. I've had problems with DVD Shrink and DVD2(svcd)DVD/tmpgenc back-ups. I have'nt burned any DVDs yet!

Select "Subtitles" and "Off" from the DVD's menu screen...

      Thanks again Setarip, much appreciated.

Done that (off is "disable"). These are not permanent subtitles in dvd back-ups. I noticed that where there were several languages available they would go off if I changed menu or sometimes if I went back to the very start. Where I just kept "english" I'm stuck with them.

This isn't too bad as with "transparent" selected they are not so glaring.

I'm just playing at authoring and encoding untill my dvd writer arrives. That is why they are on the hard drive.

I didn't see any .ini file in Win DVD, is there a hidden setup anywhere - not the right click one on the main screen?
