HELP! PC DVD won't acknowledge Region 3 DVD

    Hi,

Help... I have an 8X DVD +-R DVD Drive in my PC. I live in a Region 1 DVD area but I bought a Region 3 DVD. My DVD drive won't even acknowledge that disk when I put it in. I am begining to think the disk is bad but could it have something to do with the different Regions?

    Thanks,
    Margien

" am begining to think the disk is bad"

Try playing it in a "Region-free" standalone DVD player...

Yes, I've thought I might do that... but I'll have to get one first.

      Thanks.

"but I'll have to get one first."

Take the DVD with you to a major electronics store and test it there.

By the way, why did you buy a Region 3 DVD?

Thanks. I'll try taking it to Frys and see if they can help.

I am a big fan of a Japanese Series call "Trick." I bought the theatrical version of the 1st season because it has English subtitles and I was hoping to be able to change the region on my DVD so I could watch it.
