confusing playback problems. help please.

This is very wierd I shrink a dvd using dvd shrink. However when I play in my dvd player no it has no sound in most of the
movie. Just like about three minutes of sound. However it plays fine on my pc. And whats even more confusing i that when I
encode the movie to mpeg2 using tmpgenc it plays fine in my dvd player but when I use the dvd author and make vobs and ifos
the sound goes again.

Does anyone have any idea as to the problem?

When playing on your standalone DVD player, try selecting a different audiostream. You may be trying to playback with a DTS audiostream that your standalone player can't process (but your PC can downmix and playback)...

Either select the audio from the DVD's onscreen menu ("Setup" or "Audio" or "Languages") or by using the remote control ("Audio" or "Language")...
