    PowerDvD, WindowsMediaPlayer, Winamp stuttery playback

No problems with the audio, although it does stutter when the video is stuttering, but the audio is still clearly able to be heard and understood. The video can alos easily be seen, but the stuttering of the characters, images makes it impossible to watch after a few minutes. Is this a problem with codecs, even though I don't know what a codec is, I know they are involved in these programs. Please help!!!

sounds like a program might be running in the background eating up your processor power and memory. Try to free up some system resources and play again.

Edit 1: There is a free program called G Spot which is used to find out the video and audio codec of video files. It will even tell you if you have the codec on your computer. Get it here: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/gspot221.exe

Yeah, I downloaded the AC3 filter for Power DvD, installed this, and playback now works fine - problem with the codecs....
