I absolutely love PowerDVD! I use it on my desktop machine. I recently got an HP laptop, and I can't use PowerDVD.
When PowerDVD is install, ALL DVD players (WinDVD, WMP and PowerDVD) encounter the same problems with playback.
1. I will start playing a DVD and if I hit "Next" too quickly, they freeze up.
2. During playback, out of nowhere (at a chapter break or even in the middle of a chapter) the player will return to the main menu.
When I uninstall PowerDVD, all other DVD players return to normal. I have been using WinDVD 6 since I figured out that PowerDVD is the cause, buy I think PowerDVD is a lot better and would much rather use PowerDVD instead of WinDVD.
I have an HP ZX5180US laptop:
P4-HT 3.0Ghz
512 DDR RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 64MB
LG GCA-4040N DVD Burner
Windows XP Pro SP2 (Fully Updated)
DirectX 9.0c
All drivers fully updated
WinDVD 6
PowerDVD 5/6 (Tried both)
Windows Media Player 10
Any and all help is welcomed!
Thanx in advance!
