    unskipable crap

Is there any other software tool besides anydvd that will automatically jump to the main menu and skip crap like warning screens and previews. I don't really need most of the other features of anydvd and don't want to pay $30 just to be able to skip things that I should have the option to skip anyway.

You can use DVD Shrink and edit out of the starting and ending point of the movie.

I probably should have been more specific, I meant when watching commercial dvds not backups.

So you want some kind of device or software that you could attach or install on your DVD player, that would automatically skip, the warnings, commercials, etc. and go straight to the movie?

Basically, yes. Although I would prefer it go the main menu, and work no matter what player I was using like anydvd does, but those features are not essential.

I just hit "Menu" or "Main Menu" on my DVD player remote.

When I play most dvds on my computer the skip and menu buttons are disabled during these screens. My only option is to sit through them or sometimes it lets me fast forward.

Are you talking about playing them on your PC?

If so, get WinDVD or Power DVD.

As far as I know, there's nothing you can do about it. The DVD has "prohibited user operations flags" which tell the DVD player not to respond to the menu button. This is part of the whole scam, and there isn't much you can do about it (other than backup, and remove the PUOPs in the backup). I wish there were some DVD players or player hacks that would disable that crippling feature. All this to make you watch the FBI warning!

                  A couple PgcEdit guides
MenuShrink can shrink your menus to 5-10% of their original size.
