dvd playback on jvc failing

Hello Forum...

I 'm new around here and looking for some help.........I'm using a Lite on dvd -r/rw on a P4 3.06Ghz 1Gb ram etc.... I have been successful able to burn on 8x dvd r.....I really don't know what kind of dvd r media I used because I bought it on a computer fair...I have noticed that after more than 1 playback on my dvd ....the movie freezes and start skiipping and the colors also freezes ......I started playing 1 by 1 and all my burn dvd's that I recently burned with shrink 3.2 does the same thing....Don't know what is the problem...I play the burned dvd's on my computer and they all play fine with no problems......(Liton dvd/rw 8x) please help.....my dvd player is JVC xv-n310B....
I just ordered another pack of blank media from fuji ( 8x)

I just hope that is only the blank dvd -r which causes the problem..

You're probably right, it's most likely a media problem. Crappy media can really give you headache. Your fuji blanks should be fine...

ok which media is good I know Ritek is nice but since i already ordered fuji ..i'll see the results...one question is what kind of media is best for my jvc dvd -r dvd +r and what are the differences....thaks

Ritek Ridata is good. I've had good luck with Verbatim DVD+R's.

I am experiencing the same problem. I burned six DVD's with no errors. I then watched them later on my TV/DVD. About half way in, the video either skips or freezes and fractures the colors. I am using Verbatim 8x DVD-R media. My drive is a Sony DRU-710A(4x write). I used Shrink 3.2 and Nero to burn.

What speed did you burn at ?

I am not sure. I think that I let Nero pick...maximum speed...

What ever the default speed setting was.

Try setting the speed to 4X. If it was 8X media, and was set to max. , then it prolly burned at 8X.

The faster you burn, the more likely you are to get errors or playback problems.

I just looked up the Sony drive specs and it said that it will burn at 8x using DVD-R.
So, 8x media should work just fine...

But, I'll try it again tomorrow at 4x and update the thread.

Yes, I never said it wouldn't work with 8X media.
