DVD Player User Group

Hi folks,

I have a standalone Toshiba DVD player that is older and only works with -R media. I would like to replace it and have viewed Consumer Reports. The Sony Sony DVP-NS775V looks good, but I would like to check some user groups to get recommendations and to ask a few questions.

I looked around and couldn't find any groups that really dealt with this topic. The closest seemed to be the alt.video.dvd usenet group, but this group mainly talked about dvd recorders and other topics.

Could someone point me to a discussion group that discusses standalone DVD players.

Can't point you to a discussion group, but you can check out http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php and look up individual model numbers and read the feedback people have left about them, what media works good with them, etc.
