    PowerDVD Audio Problem

    This is my system configuration

    PIII 550 mhz
sound card Creative Sound Blaster Live! 1024 player with LiveWare 3.0 driver
    PowerDVD 4.0

If I select 2 speaker output in PowerDVD audio configuration, all the modes (A3D, Dolby Sorround, Stereo etc) work well; with A3D/DirectSound3D it seems to play sound on 4 distinct channel.

But if I try to select 4 speaker (should be the optimum because my sound card has 4 channel), I've no audio at all, the system remain completely mute.

I can't understand the logic, it's a PowerDVD bug or a configuration problem?

Should I install DirectX 8 or whatever ?

    Thanks

      Why not?

Why not try WinDVD 3.1 DTS?

        I have almost the same problem. I can't play CD's, Wav's and MP3's when I have 4 an 6 channels (SB Live 5.1!)But when I play DVD's and VCD's it's ok.

If i select 2 channels, everything works fine. In the PowerDVD online manual it says that Power DVD is able to get a Pro Logic II sound out of MP3, CD's a.s.o. but isn't that in 6 channels?

I have the same issues with my PCI Live! Digital...

2 channel audio output from PowerDVD works fine, but 4 channel mutes the sound card, and displays the video at a blazing 2 frames per second...

Somebody must have a fix for this by now...?
