I Need Windows Media Player Help!!

I can't play any dvd's on my computer now with windows media player. It use to work but whenever i try to play something i get

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a problem occurred with copyright protection."

as an error message. I tried clicking more information. The problem is:

0xC00D1167: A problem occurred with copyright protection

as given by the troubleshooter. I tried everything they suggested in the troubleshooter; I also reinstalled my dvd codecs, reverted to an older version, ver 10 to ver 9, and still nothing. DVDs play in my powerDVD 5.0 but I don't get good audio quality from it (no $$ for the audio decoder upgrade). I really want to make this work, someone please help!

Chuck it out - it is bloody useless. Play DVD files in something that was meant to play them not some dopey M$ tryhard like WMP10.

Use PowerDVD, Showtime or media player classic.

yes wmp10 is crap for dvd's i had the same situation. follow blutach's advice, i use power dvd 5.0 and mpc and they work great.

I use DVD43 and have been able to play DVD's using Media player 10 with DVD43 active. I have downloaded a free software bundle from the Finals Build Site which has RealAlternative and Media Classic Player which is better (I think) as an all around media player. It will play Quicktime .mov files as well as .wmv and many more, and it is free . Here is the address: http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/finalbuilds.htm
I disable DVD43 when using DVDDECRYPTER, but leave it active for DVDShrink and when playing DVD's with the aforementioned programs.

as mentioned above, get 'media player classic'. its completely free, and can play just about anything.

You might want to try (Freeware) VideoLAN player...

Thanks for the input everyone. I have an Audigy 2 ZS sound card, and it's absolutely wonderful. I found that with windows media play I got the best quality sound... I watch dvds via my dvd rom on my tv with my 5.1 speakers set up around it. Which of those above are the best when it comes to audio decoding and output?
