I backed up my copy of the Grudge following FAQ: How I Backed Up "The Grudge" by jmet. I used DVD Decrypter then DVD shrink. I used DVD Decrypter twice to burn the ISO image to Verbatim DVD+RW disks but the disk would not play on my computer or DVD player. I then used Sonic RecordNow to burn the ISO image to different disk the burn still will not play on my computer or DVD player. I can play the ISO image and the DVD+RW's are good because I used RecordNow to make an exact copy of another disc in my collection and they worked. I've searched the forums for the answer... I need help!!!

"I used RecordNow to make an exact copy of another disc in my collection and they worked."
Hello and welcome to the forums. Did you employ the "Same" procedures on the other DVD(s) in your collection as was done with the "Grudge", or were different methods used? -
Thanks for the welcome! I used RecordNow to make an exact copy of another disk because I wanted to find out if my +RW disk was good. That worked which means that the two disks that I used to back up the grudge were good but when I tried to back up the Grudge from the ISO image it would not play. I first used DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO Image to disk then RecordNow same result they would not play. I also tried to back-up Spike Lee's "She Hate Me" with the same result.Comment

What version of DVD Decrypter are you using to rip (and burn). Make sure you have 3.5.4.0

Did DVD Decrypter generate any error messages when burning the .ISO image file? If so, what was the EXACT message?Comment

Thats just it DVD Decrypter did not generate any error messages when burning the .ISO image file everything was normal. The same thing happened when I burned Sonic RecordNow, It recorded normally but when the burn finished it would not play. I tried Dell Media Experience, Media Player and a standalone DVD Player. None read the disk.Comment

Have you tested your burn? See my sig.
Next time, run DVD Decrypter in test mode and see what happens.

I am glad it is not only me that is having this problem but it does seem to be a Junior Member Problem because obviously DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are working for a lot of people. I still have not found the problem yet there are no error messages and I verified the DVD it just wont play on my PC or stand alone DVD player. I've checked the DVD's by erasing them and burning a DVD to DVD (Making an exact copy of another DVD that did not need Decrypting or Shrinking) but I cannot play the file burnt from the ISO Image. But I can mount the ISO image and play that on a virtual drive. DEMIGOD'S, KING'S, EXPERT'S, SPECIALIST'S, MODERATRESS and MODERATOR'S PLEASSSSSE HELP!Comment

Instead of using .ISO images, try the following:
Use DVD Decrypter v.3.54 to "rip" the DVD to your hard drive in "File" mode - and from the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "All files" (NOT "movie files").
Then use DVD Shrink v.3.2xxx to "Open files" (NOT "Open Disk")
then burn with NERO or similar in "DVD-Video" mode...Comment
