    DVD player not detected

    you probably saw my last post. ok I have a new problem!!! after I restarted my computer it turned out that my PC didn't detect the DVD player! I'm 100% sure that i plugged it in correctly i did a hardware search but it didn't work. Please help me!

    But that becomes suspect since your pc isn't seeing it. Yes? I'd double check your connections. Perhaps you pulled the ribbon slightly loose from the mother board.

      i just re-connected everything and it's working thanks! i still have a problem. when I play a movie in any dvd software it displays only the upper half of the movie and the bottom part is a black screen. do u have any idea what should I do?

        also, if you placed this on a ribbon with another device, it could be you have set the jumper settings incorrectly.
