WinDVD6 Fullscreen is blank

Whenever I try to run WinDVD6 in fullscreen mode, the sound runs fine but the screen is just blank. I can see the strip in the middle which should show the film is slightly lighter black like it knows something should be there but the film wont show. I thought it might be my moniter resolution but it does it at every setting. Weird thing is another DVD app I used runs fine in fullscreen and I can scale win DVD to about fullscreen size and it still runs perfectly smoothly. I absolutly love winDVD because its surround sound support for my setup is amazing and so want to get it to run in fullscreen mode; any suggestions?

Does no one even have an idea to what it might be? Please help me as it's annoying the hell out of me and now my other DVD program has crapped out so I've got nothing to watch fullscreen DVD's on
