Screen rapidly switching from fullscreen to letterbox

When i try and play a Nell McAndrew exercise DVD, the screen constantly switches between fullscreen and letterbox, making it impossible to watch.

the back of the exercise DVD box says PAL and 16.9 so i made sure that these settings were set on the DVD player but it made no difference.

Other DVDs have been fine. Anyone got any advice or is it just a faulty DVD?

Ok, if you play the DVD in a different DVD player, do you experience the same behavior?

I haven't tried that as i haven't had the opportunity. I was hoping it was either a common problem with an easy solution or a clear indication of a faulty DVD and i could then send it back.

I've never heard of such an experience quite frankly, maybe someone else has.

I would say return it.

I've sorted it! Even though the box said 16.9, i tried it on another screen setting (can't remember what it was, 4.something) and it worked. I don't understand it, but i don't care as long as it works.
