Resizing squished avi's?

I've downloaded a movie (The Big Lebowski) that has been encoded wrong somehow, so it now appears "squished". That is, it's a 4:3 movie that has been encoded as Widescreen, making all the people seem realy fat.

I know I could re-encode it, but besides being a hassle, I'd lose quality. Is there a player that can stretch (resize) the movie so it appears as it should be?

The Sasami player will allow you to disproportionately distort your videos to your heart's content - as will WinDVD ;>}
