Need region-free hack for ScanMagic PL617 portable DVD player

I just bought a German (Region 2) ScanMagic PL617 portable DVD player and need the hack to either change it to Region 1 or make it Region-free. Also, if you have the name of the real manufacturer (I don't think the company is ScanMaster--just a model), please share that with me as well. Thanks for any help on this.

hi to make your pl617 region free you only have to press setup on your remote then go to tv system and select auto, this way you can play all region dvd's so there is no need for a hack cause now it will play al regions.
