    DVD Playback problems?

I just burnt a DVD for my first time using The DVD Shrink for dummies guide put together by Cynthia. (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=49051)

I did it in the following ways:

    - Decyrpt with DVD Decrypter
    - Used IFOEdit
    - Compressed with DVD Shrink
    - Burnt with DVD Dycrypter

Now, here is where the problem begins. I CAN play it back on my computer that i burnt it with, and I CAN play it back on one of my standalone players. I CANNOT play it back on my other computer and I CANNOT play it back on my other standalone player. However, both of the devices it WILL play it back on have the ability to write dvd's. Can anyone help me here?

likely those devices that won't read it don't like that media....which title by the way?

Alright, it's not a huge problem, aslong as I can still play it on my main DVD player. The title was 'Lightning In A Bottle'.

      Thanks for your response.

I still don't really understand why my other DVD player could not read it though.

you may have been able to back-up that title with shrink only....to determine media compatibility of your standalone players:

        Columbo moments...

The only thing is, I thought that IFOEdit was supposed to fix all of these types of errors.

this is an issue of MEDIA COMPATIBILITY, it's not like the vhs days where any tape will play in any VCR. not all players will support all media...nature of the beast

What are the brand names and model #'s of both stand alone DVD players?

What brand and format is the disc? (Ex: Verbatim DVD-R)

Yup, ya musta tried it a 16x, some media/burner combinations can burn real fast (cynthia for one has successful burns at 16x). As in life crawl, walk, then run when burning DVD's until ya find out what works. Imagine trying to run right outta the womb when we have not even developed our balance yet
