I have been viewing Divx movies for along time and now.....

ok, I have been viewing divx movies for along time and in the past I have had little problem getting the right codecs to work with my system. I just restored my CPU and its either I can't find the right codecs or I have the wrong system settings. I have direct x 8 and I have downloaded and installed divx ver.'s divx Pro bundle, 311alpha, and divx 4.0. Under devices in my multimedia folder in control panel and under Video compression codecs, I have divx 4.0 beta codec and divx MPEG4 codec for fast motion and low 5 times now and and no luck. When I try to play through media player7.1. It says at the bottom it says "media changing..." then it tries to request codec or something, but it only plays the music with thier little visualization playing with it. In kazaa it plays the sound and the timer counts but no sound. I had little problem with this the last time but I somehow found the right setup of either codecs or system settings. Can anyone help?

P.S. It says under prefferences of all my movies under preview
cannot find vids:mp43 decompresser.
