Back-up skips in P.O.S. player but works fine in JVC

I've backed up a bunch of movies that i bought for my son, the problem is that when they play in the Piece Of S#@$ player that i bought for his room they skip towards the end of the movie. I've read the post about poor media quality, but those same disks play great in my JVC player. I can't help but feel that it's the POS player in his room isn't buffering the data. is there anyway of restructing the image so it doesn't have to jump to a different sector on the DVD +R? Does VOBBlanker or VTSFixer do this? I can't see giving him the originals because they would end up scratched beyond reading within a week.

burned at 2.4X with dvd decryptor
and verified after burn. if there were errors i would destroy disk and try again.
his disk player is a albertron or something like that. So if someone could even suggest a better player for under $50 (USD) sold in the midwest, it would probably eliminate this problem all together.

what's your burner? and the mid code of the media you are using?

you might not need a new player?

how can i find the mid code of the media? the burner is a lite-on... i'll have to get the model number when i get home from work(the firmware is updated as of November, which is the last time i checked)

Your media is listed in Videohelp.com as good, though I would suggest trying TY or Verbatim. Also, I see your booktype is set to DVD+R. What is your make/model of DVD Burner? I would see if it supports bitsetting, and it if does change the booktype to DVD-ROM for better compatibility when using the DVD+R media.

This makes me want to ask one more question... make and model of your POS player. It may not be fully compatible with DVD+R media. Go to this web page and do a search for your player and see what it supports.

First... thanks for the links they will help trouble shoot possible bad media. also model of player is oritron DVD4119 (shows compatible for +R media)
Burner Model is a lite-on LDW-851S. (firmware updated, current as of November '05)

Is there a link in the forums about "how to" bitsetting and advantages?
Note: i use DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink (of course with PGCEdit when needed)

If you ever have any questions the best place to start looking is at the signature of Blutach. Plenty of good links. His link for Bittsetting is here. As Chewy says, your drive supports it, so it's best to use it

That's a great fix guys. thanks for the help. That still won't correct crappy media but when a five year old has their hands on it for more than 5 minutes it's going to be crappy anyways.

I have been bitsetting only a few months, I love it! It's hard to stay neutral
in the +/- format squabbles anymore. The only advantage DASH R media has is, TY, the premium media is more economical
in "-R" than the "+R".
