    WinDVD doesn't work

    Ok, Here's the scoop. I'm running WinXP with WinDVD 3.0 and it was working fine. Until, I installed a codec pack called Tsunami codec & filter pack. Now, I can bring up the windvd app window, however when I put in a DVD to play, it freezes up my comp. I wait about 10 minutes and after playing around with ctrl+alt+del and end task, I finally get control of my comp back. I know, uninstall the codec pack right. Well, I can do that but, I need one of the filters it has so I can play some mpg files. Is there some options I need to tinker with, or a better way, anything else that'll help?

    No you don't.
    The filters (for MPEG2 video and .AC3 audio) are/were already on your system as part of the WinDVD installation. they are the ivivideo.ax and iviaudio.ax filters.

    First uninstall the items from the codec pack.
    Then uninstall WinDVD.
    Then reinstall WinDVD.
    Then download DVDGenie and, from under the WinDVD tab, click on "More options". Click on "Register filters with Windows".
    Reboot your system - and you should be a happy camper ;>}
