I was just wondering whether someone might be able to help. I was watching a DVD the other day on a portable player (relatively cheap no frills no known brand one I might add, I only really bought it since I'm living with a host family for a year and don't always have access to their player) and there was some sound disturbance and all these random coloured pixels appeared over the screen for a couple of seconds - sort of as though the image was breaking up although not quite, since these pixels just seemed to appear from nowhere. I thought it must be the DVD but then watching another DVD on the same player the same thing happened. I was beginning to worry that it could be the player somehow damaging the discs and putting these errors on them as it were. It seems unlikely to me but I really don't know much about this kind of thing so wanted to ask an expert how likely that would be. I might add that both DVDs are from the same publishing company (they're fairly cheap no frills releases of Dutch TV programmes) so maybe it has something to do with the releases of that company. Anyway, just wondering whether anyone could put my mind at rest that it's probably not my player damaging my discs.
