    Aiwa xd-dv370 DVD Player

Whenever I put a disc into my Aiwa DVD player I get a "disc error" and the door opens - it even does this when there is not a DVD or CD in the tray. Only thing I can do to keep it closed is to turn it off. Anyone know of a fix or should I just trash it? It worked fine last night. Thanks.

mine has done strange things like that 2 or 3 times. somehow i found unplugging it for about 30 seconds and re plugging worked. will it work for you? no idea, then maybe have it checked by a repair shop...then again a big hammer might be what it needs too

how long have you had it?

It's been sitting for 3 hours and I just plugged it in and tried again. Still same thing. I think I'll just throw it away. I've had this one a few years. Oh well, I thought maybe there was some way to "re-set" it or something. Thanks for the info.

if there is something that can be done, i don't know about it. sounds like something that needs to be replaced though.
