AV sync problems with different players

    STORY
ok i use to use WMP to play all my movies but it never lets me change the aspect ratio so i wanted something more i went for the playa which had everything i wanted except the audio was
1-.5 a second before the video but with the same movies i never had the problem before in WMP then i went out on a limb and downloaded "DiVX Player 2.0 Alpha" which i got from download.com. Now this looks like a kick ass player but the sound on the movies is like 2 seconds ahead of the video
so i tried another divx movie i had and the sound was perfect.

    QUESTION
So my quyestion is whats up with that? why do different players and different movies mess up on syncing with the audio and video? is this a codec problem?

    SPECS
my computer is a 860MHz Dell with 128mb ram and geforce 32mb card
    and a white monitor
    this divxs are all downloaded

anyone know whats up with dat?

Try Radlight player or better yet GDIVX, these are nice "lean and light" players, that enable you to change the aspect ratio.

Also, for the playa, do one or a combination of these:

    1) reduce desktop area to 640x480
    2) color to 16 it
    3) post processing level to a lower value.

I would load the file into virtualdub, check the file information and post it here. An improper codec, can cause playback issues. Note divx 5.01 causes some problems with divx 4.12 content. Divx 3.11 content should be played with the divx 3.11 codec not divx 5.0 or divx 4.xx
