    Need DVD player for P2 laptop

    can anyone point me to a dvd player i can download for a P2 lappy?

    I have cinemaster 2000 (laptop has windows 2k)
    but it crashes on startup with a dvd in drive??

    girlfriend needs this heap a junk to play dvds on...and i cant afford to buy her a new one
    please help!!!

        well it IS only a PII, the odds are against you being able to play a dvd smoothly on it, maybe if you had dxva graphics

        try "mplayer"; uses least resources, but still not much less than mpc

          wmp wont play the dvd/?
          says it needs decoders?

            it came fitted new with a dvd player...but someone formatted it...and she cant remmeber what program used to play dvds perfectly/??

              wmp needs a dshow mpeg2 decoder-- dscaler, powerdvd and windvd will allow playback in wmp

                try to get an old copy of powerdvd from someone, also optimize the laptop,
                W2k doesn't come with msconfig

                MS should really fix that themselves, shame on them!
