    Laptop Problems & Driver Updates

I bought a KDS Valient laptop before I knew the company was going out of business. I need updated drivers, and even information on how to open the laptop to make updates/upgrades.

In December, the hard drive failed. This was a frustration since I had to, literally, break the back open once I removed more than a dozen screws seemingly holding it together. FInally, I could open the back enough to slip in the hard drive, but still I could not get it completely open.

In the process of installing the hard drive, I somehow lost the sounds once coming from the speakers. This was resolveable by the use of external speakers. Still, this is a frustration when once desires to play a DVD breaking from my college studies. This has been a huge frustration for me.

Worse, I bought the 3-year warranty from a company that never intended to honor it. This was $300+ down the tubes from the get go.

The KDS Laptop Company have a sister company that make Monitors (KDS), but they can offer no help.

    Drivers Needed:
    Trident Video Accelerator CyberBlade-Ai1
    Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-C2502
ALi M5229 PCI Bus Master IDE Controler
    HSP56 MicroModem
Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
    ALi audio Accelerator WDM Driver

*Once I locate these drivers, how do I install them? (Will copying them to:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers and rebooting do it?) Also, how do I back up old drivers in case I run into an updated driver that creates a problem with booting the laptop? Any other advice about potential difficulties would be appreciated.
