Region Problem

A friend of mine brought me a portable DVD player from the U.S which is region 1 if i am correct.
I live in Greece which is Region 2 as all of Europe.
As you understand the Local DVDs don't play in the DVD player.
Is there sth i can do to fix the problem?

There are standalone DVD players that play both type of formats (NTSC or PAL).

Check with the guide that came with the player. It should be able to tell you there. If not, you could try videohelp here or the manufacturers web site.

BTW: The recharger is probably 115 volts and is greece is 230 volts AC power supply; you will need an AC converter for the recharger!
