Slow playback

I have a pioneer DVD burner and the burner works but it doesn't read my DVD's. There is slow playback and the pictures is in slow motion. I don't understand what the problem is. I updated the driver and program that I play the DVD on and it still doesn't work. Any ideas?? I would appreciate it.
