DVD plays in some players not others

I burned a few DVD's using ripit4me (Braveheart, LOTR, Johhny English, Blade Runner), the backup dvds play fine in all 3 computers in the house, in the portable cheapo dvd player for the car, and in our Citizen C503DVC combo VCR/DVD player. I am using Memorex DVD-R media.

In the basement we have a DVD/VCR combo unit Toshiba SD-V394, the disks will not play in it. I tried burning "She's The Man" twice, once with Nero and once with DVD Decrypter, both will not work.

Any suggestions, or is the Toshiba just not up to the job?

This could be a format issue. I have a player that does not like -r disk. You might try using +r disk if your burner will use both types.

One never knows then it may be a simple thing.

Switch to blank +R disc's and your problem should go away.

Tried Verbatim R+ media, now burned disc will play in the Toshiba and not in the Citizen (R- media was other way round)

Sounds like R+ is the way to go as most modern, any suggestions to enable the Citizen to play R+ ??

Do you think it's worth a try to make an image and burn with DVD Decrypter instead of Nero? i see a lot of recommendations not to use Nero.

Would you recommend DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn to burn the image?

ImgBurn to burn but please post Nero Log because it probably won't solve playback issue.
