So I ripped and decrypted "Star Trek First Contact" using rip4me

I used the option to save as ISO file

I then downloaded ImgBurn and burned the disk using ImgBurn

The disk now plays in the computer that burned it but in neither of my set tops (Toshiba, Citizen)

I used Verbatim R+ disks at 8X burn speed

    Help!!!

Thanks for the advice and pointing me in the right direction. I won't bother making any more coasters with that Philips drive

Just as a follow up I hauled out an old NEC ND-3540A 1.01 external USB burner and gave it a shot. Burned DVD+R copies play in the Toshiba set top, and DVD-R play in the Citizen set top player so now I know the limitations of the set tops and will know to buy one which can play both media types in future
