Dvd burner works but windows does not recognize!?!

Hi all,

My dvd burner works in every aspect, burning dvds/cds ect, when i use my nero burning program. The problem is when I insert a Dvd windows for some strange reason, (in start>my computer) says that my G: drive is a CD drive when a month ago it said it was a DVD/Cd drive. I'm not sure if this is a driver issue or what. Any ideas?

You should have posted this in General Computing. Copy the URL & PM it to Chewy. He can not only move it, but also answer the question.

It sounds like a driver issue - have you tried uninstalling & reinstalling the driver from Device Manager>IDE Adapters>(the drive in question)>Properties>Driver?
