OK, I got all the programs installed, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work. I think I need a little hand holding. Thanks

have you set ffdshow to decode raw video? if so, when you play a dvd you should see the ffdshow icon in the system tray.

      ensure it's a recent build from http://www.x264.nl or http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout

Thanks a lot, it's working now and the options are amazing! I could play around for hours. Unfortunately my computer keeps crashing so I figure my CPU is not up for the job. BTW, is there a particular build you recommend? I downloaded the Yamagata build because it seemed to be the most popular. Also resizing seems a bit tricky, getting the right aspect ratio and all.

i like cslid's builds, but you should try them all and see which performs better on your system

no need to worry about aspect ratio, MPC can control that no matter the res

Thanks for all your help anon, I can seem to upsample a little, but not a lot. I was comparing with Windows Media Player, does WMP upsample the image too? It seemed like it did.

it won't if the video is already the res of the display.

I can seem to upsample a little, but not a lot
not sure what you mean? when you resize, input the horizontal res to match your monitor and vertical res at 0
