Hi Anonymez,
I used to be able to play back AVI files via my WMP10 and using DirectVobSub for automatic playback of subtitles.
Lately when I play the AVI's thru WMP10, I have "Audio" only and NO Picture!?!?!?
The only thing I can think of is because of all the installing and uninstalling of various "experimental" programs that I have done ... I must have clobbered something ...
Q: How can I fix this problem? Would installing WMP11 fix it?

I have 10, which I never use so should I update just for the heck of it & would you have to uninstall 10 or do you think it will overwrite?

I never use WMP to play DVDs. I prefer MPC myself.
But I did have WMP 10 and updated it to WMP 11 about a month ago! I thought it just overwrote 10.Gary D

. guess you're referring to all this talk about more drm in wmp11, doesn't affect me and by the looks of it most people who complain about it

no, either a system restore or a clean install. the latter is better but if both are out of the question, use VLC to play your files until they aren't. btw rule of thumb: do not download any program that shows up from a google search like "avi to dvd", "flv to avi", etc.How can I fix this problem? Yes, I don't think FairUse4WM has been updated to WMP 11 yet. So, those who are into unDRM'ing their files, don't update.

I am sticking with wmp10, and it is up-to-date and I rarely use wmp10, maybe for playing some internet audio program some one has sent me.
Microsoft showed some things you need to do to remove wmp10 before you add wmp11. But I can't find it on the Microsoft web site again
I would get more use out of MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC and MusicMatch Plus.
