I tried the advice below with version 6 and version 7 but am unable to view a DVD movie. What am I doing wrong? Now that my registry is hacked and the codecs are loaded (I tried both "Free DVD Filters" and "VOB Filters 1.04") all I need is step-by-step instructions for starting a movie.

Brad
How can I enable Microsoft Media Player 6.xx's DVD features ?
The following URL was submitted to us by Hendrik, and it involves some registry editing - the Windows registry is where all your important Windows setup information is stored, and if it is damaged, it could severely ruin your Windows install (and a re-install of all your Windows programs, as well as Windows itself will be needed). Click here to see the registry hack to enable DVD playback in Windows Media Player (note that a compatible Directshow DVD decoder is still need - the hack merely enables the DVD interface, but will not playback DVDs without a decoder).
