...to add "Song of the South" to his queue so NetFlix can apply more pressure to Disney & get this thing out FAST, and in bulk. This classic & groundbreaking (on MANY levels) kids' movie has been hidden away for too long, and for stupid reasons. Let's get it back out where it belongs, for everyone to enjoy.

There are many more interesting historical periods in the world, American slavery is over, time to move on.
American slavery is just a small part of slavery and did not influence the world very much. Just tell your kids "when you grow up dont buy a plantation and stock it with slaver" -
Why don't you WATCH the movie, instead of spouting the same BS that every other UNinformed person does. There is not ONE slave in that movie, nor is anyone TREATED like a slave, SPOKEN TO as if he was a slave, or DEPICTED as a slave.
That's the EXACT reason it needs to be re-released. It's not a political movie - it's a CHILDREN'S MOVIE, and a good one!Comment

Dedicated to providing information on Walt Disney's Academy Award-winning and controversial film Song of the South.
Q. Is the movie set before or after the Civil War?
A. AFTER. Just as the original Uncle Remus stories written by Joel Chandler Harris, Song of the South is set in a time period after the Civil War and the abolition of slavery. This is evident by the fact that in the movie Uncle Remus is able to freely leave the plantation. Walt Disney probably assumed that people already knew this fact and may have felt that stating the date was unnecessary.Comment
