How to play old DIVX movies

    Hi,

I have some 50 short avi movies recorded with an old 3.x alpha version of DIVX. I have installed many other versions thereafter, and now, I cannot open those movies. I don't even remember which version I used to record the movies. I have two questions:

1 - Is DIVX version information coded anywhere in the AVI file ? Is there a program to show it ?
2 - Where can I download old alpha versions of DivX again so I can convert the movies to newer versions ?

    Thanks,

    Alessandro

Load the file into VirtualDub. From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

You can download the DivX v.3.11alpha codec at DivX Digest, of course ;>} (By the way, if you want to be able to use it, first uninstall any other DivX codecs presently residing on your system)
