toshiba sd-220eb won't play dual layer disc

    I have a Toshiba sd-220eb DVD player.

My son has made a home movie and copied it onto a disc for me to watch.

He explained to me that because the files are large, he has copied them onto a DVD+R double layer disc. He says this has a larger capacity than regular sized discs.

The DVD player doesn't seem to recognise or work the disc.

Does anyone know if this is because the DVD player won't work with this type of disc?

Did you check the manual for the player & have you checked it in other players or on the computer? Without knowing the process that was used it is pretty tough to tell what went wrong if it's the disc.

      route one

well, it seems that the DVD player just can't cope with dual layer discs...

I now have regular discs which work fine, although the movie is now split between a couple of them...
