Unlock Sony CD/DVD player

Hello,

I am a newbie in this forum and I apologise if I don't know how to use the proper terms in what regards these issues.

I own a Sony CD/DVD player. The model is DVDP-NS585P. This player is advertised as Multi Region, but that is not true. Yesterday I tried to play a Region 1 DVD and it didn't work. The Instruction Manual has codes for other countries but not for the United States.

My question is: has anyone had a similar problem? And is there any code available so that I can unlock my DVD player for Region 1 DVD's?

Goto control panel-> admin tools-> computer management->device manager->DVD/CD-rom drives-> double click on your drive, click on DVD region tab.

Yes... I believe that more than 5 years. Anyway, thanks for you help! I will try and follow some of the ideas that are in that link you provided me.
