Hey sorry if i posted this in the wrong place.

i was just wondering if a dvd player says that it is "DivX playback compatible."

does this mean that it will also be able to play avi files ?
and if someone could recommend a player that i could buy in the Uk i would be most greatful.

Yes,only if they are encoded with DivX or XviD codecs(which they usually are).

If the player is "DivX Ultra" certified, it will even playback DivX files that have menus. More infohere, a guide for making DivX files with menus here.

after months of searching i found a slivercrest dvd player that does all my needs
