I have bought a used Rage 128 Pro graphics card because I require a graphics card with the VIP connector for my project. My problem is that with an obselete card like this it is difficult to obtain the a software DVD decoder designed to exploit the hardware acceleration facilities built into the card. These graphics cards were probably sold with an installation disc containing an ATI DVD player based on the Raviscent Cinemaster decoder, but of course the majority of these discs have long since been discarded. You can obtain installation discs for the Rage series from ATI's online store, but DVD is not specified in the product description as it is for some Radeon installation discs and anyway ATI will not ship these discs to Europe. I have tried looking for hacked versions of the decoder or DVD player using Google and Bittorrent searches, but no luck.
I have exhausted both the legal and illegal options for obtaining these codecs. Any suggestions anyone?
