I have a Dell Inspiron 7000 running WinXP with a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-C2102 which is RPC-1.
I have a Luxsonor (Luxsonar?) LS-242 hardware DVD decoder (since the computer is only a PII-333, 128mg RAM) which is NOT region-free.
I cannot find anyway of making my region-free DVD drive and region-coded decoder card become completely Region-free. I am in Australia and have no changes left and cannot watch any DVD's here (Region 4). It has made my DVD useless and I've looked all over for a solution.
The closest thing I found was a program "Remote Selector" which make the previous version of the Luxsonar decoder card region-free but didn't work on my LS-242.
I also read somewhere that you could hack windows registry to reset the region setting, but I tried this and it didn't work either.
Someone please help me, I've been dealing with this for over a month and I just want to be able to watch movies on my computer...
A million and one thanks and greetings from Australia!
