    Software / Hardware Issues

Hi All! I am new to this Forum so I am hoping that my first experience will be a good one.

I have a DVD-Rom which is now about 3 years old (Pioneer DVD 113 Not sure what this means), as well as an old DVD Decoder Card (Cinemaster Card with S-Video, RCA Out; not sure what Revision) and this was working with Software Cinemaster 98 under Windows 98 (but the decoder card does not have supported drivers for XP, so I am running dual booted). The most I could do with this was play DVD's through my TV. I now want to be able to do more with the DVD's and record them onto video through my VCR. My questions are:

    1. What other software could I possibly use with this drive and decoder card that will allow me to playback ripped files or remove macrovision?
    2. Should I replace the decoder card with a video card with TV out?
    3. What setups do people on the forum have that they have had success with?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I would like to avoid having to buy a standalone DVD player for as long as possible (or when recorders become standard).

    Thanks all
