    bmp2png.exe error on DVD flick

    Hello Guys

I had DVD Flick for about 2 years, never had any problem recording any DVD, recently I started to have this problem: when the program starts inserting subtitles I receive this message "bmp2png.exe is currently used by another program", that's the file located in the DVD Flick directory, and nothing is recorded after this and the encoding process can stay forever!

Can I get some help please!

    Try this to unlock it
UNLOCKER 1.9.1 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB

When a program crashes it doesn't let go of the files it ran, opened, wrote etc..

Sometimes you can get it to let go by running, then closing the app(DVD Flick.)

But Unlocker is handy to have anyway.

Thx very much for your help, I downloaded the Unlocker, it didn't find any locking in the bmp2png.exe! actually the problem appears when the DVD Flick starts to insert the subtitles, hours after encoding vedio and audio, what I have noticed also is that the FPS while encoding is low - between 12 to 15 FPS while usually it should be 23-25 FPS!

Do you still have the output audio and video files? Sometimes instead of spending a lot of time trying to figure out why I'm stuck with a particular converter, if I have good audio and video, I'll just put them in an authoring program and add the subs.

For example if the output .m2v and .ac3 or whatever look like the run times are complete, just author.

DVDAuthorGui is one free one that's easy to use. Also you may be able to use MuxMan. Usually in these instances the type of subtitle input is the limiting factor what free tools you can use.

There's no audio/video outputs, only error log and the subtitles all in bmp format as it couldn't convert it to png format! I wish there's a program as good as DVD Flick then I would just forget about these problems!

I would try a reinstall of DVD Flick. If that doesn't fix it you might try a more recent converter. Flick hasn't been updated in awhile.

I did that already, I've got 3 versions of it including the latest one, honestly I tried everything! I don't know it seems a problem with encoding by the CPU as I noticed it uses 100% of the CPU while encoding!

You could try an encoder that doesn't use FFmpeg. Perhaps AvsToDVD.

I did that last night as I'm searching all the time for an alternative, that program keeps freezing when I try to preview before burning the movie, then when I ignored the preview it got frozen at 50% of first pass!!

You may have some other problems. It might be worth doing a scan with Malwarebytes.

i scanned with Ewido and also i've got Kasperski and all's clean, what I found out now is that if I try to insert the subtitle manually it gives me this message "the subtitle has overlapping timestamps" and that dvd flick will try to fix it.
I guess this is where the problem starts from, i've uninstalled and reinstalled dvd flick, vobsub and k-lite codec but still get the same message about overlapping even that subtitle is working perfect when i display it on media player classic!

Where did this subtitle come from? It sounds like the problem.

                          It's Arabic subtitles from Subscene

I only have experience with English language subs. When you get into non English on Windows then there's all kinds of character encoding, font, code page, and other issues that I cannot help you with. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks very much mate for your help, anyway I solved the problem with overlapping and tried again, same results! so I will try now to burn one of my old DVDs that I didn't have problem with and see if the problem is from DVD Flick or from the new movies I've downloaded.`1
