    PC-DVD to TV using S-Video

My laptop (Dell Inspiron 7500 PIII 700) lets me view DVDs nicely on the computer's screen, but when I connect to a TV using my S-Video output, the TV picture cycles between good and distorted. This only happens when viewing DVDs; the normal computer screens are displayed on the TV OK. I'm using Cyberlink PowerDVD. Has anyone else seen a similar problem? Any suggestions?
    Thanks -

You are undoubtedly seeing the effects of Macrovision protection. Check out the Macrovision sub-forum in this same section for further insight...

      Slight variation on this problem.

I've just connected my puter to my TV using an s-video cable, to a SCART converter, but when I run PowerDVD, there's no output to the TV. Is there something I have to do in the player to switch output to the s-video port, or should it happen automatically?

      Thanks
