i have a smart dvd2000 and ive had for a while now and for some no apaerent reason it has stopped playing region 2 films but every thing else is ok region 1 is fine svcd fine and all the rest of it but just no region 2 so i no how 2 get to the secret menu cd tray open and 077 select and where the region change is its saying 13 i don now what code you would use for region free or why it has gone to just playing region one if any one can help i would be very great full and if any body nows of any firm wear or any thing at all even web site ive looked for the site wich i would of thought it would be ive searched for the words smart 2000 dvd but if any body nows of the site or a site to do with it i will be great full cheers Flex thanks in advance

Firstly, is your DVD drive region-protected? Do you keep having to switch the region of your drive, before it (finally) refuses to switch anymore?

thanks for getting back to me i may have miss interprated i have a stand alone dvd machine a smart 2000 dvd not one in stalled on my pc if you think you can stillhelp it would be cool or even if you no of a site what can help me or even the manafactures site ive tried looking for the company but with no avail some one told me smart dvd 2000 was a tany or radio shak i dont no i can get to the secret menu on the dvd player but i dont now this machinnes system it just comes up with 4 zeros ive tried to go for what i think would be region free wich is zero but no good it will no t let me but any other number it will acept but it was origanly set on 13 so i have no clue to what numbering system this dvd player has so ime realy stuck if you can help or no of anyone it would be greatfully apreciated cheer

Ahh...I'm sorry. I have no knowledge beyond PC DVD drives (unless you want to take the PS2 into account ^_^). Check for information on the machine either from the net (with which you don't seem to be having much success) or directly from where you purchased it (who should be able to tell you something). well maybe their is something you may be able to help me out with i have a poineer dvd rewriter wich has only 4 goes at the region codes then i would presume will lock if you can help out with that that would be nice and thanks for getting back to me cheers
