    Quicktime To DVD using DVDFlick

Alright, so I've tried DVDFlick now to convert .mov files to DVD. I got it to work twice, and now all of a sudden it's not working. Whenever I try to encode a video, I get this error:

An error occured during the encoding process
-1 from EncodeVideo: File was not encoded.

I also included the log here:

Any help from anyone would be great.

    Welcome to the forum

The error message could mean anything, but it looks like you're not the only one with this problem. Link, Link and Link

    Try Mediacoder or Super.

The problem is most likely with how the Directshow filters are configured to decode QuickTime/H.264 files (in that they are probably not configured, and you are using Apple QuickTime player to play them?). I ran into similar problems with MeGUI once, and had to reinstall/reconfigure ffdshow to let it decode H.264.

ffmpeg does not utilize DirectShow at all, however. And ffdshow and ffmpeg both use ffh264 for decoding.

Thank you very much for the responses. I thought I was going crazy because 2 files worked fine, then BAM!!! Nothing. I even tried encoding the same file after the thing started acting up and it still wouldn't do it. I am going to try Mediacoder. Does that also do multichannel surround sound?

FFDSHOW is a DirectShow decoding filter for decompressing several video formats
              confusing?

After trying Super, I ran into 2 problems. 1, I can't actually record it onto DVD as my program doesn't recognize it, and 2, there's no audio. One of the QT HD files I am trying to encode is in 5.1 sound and I also have some in 3.1. I'd like to keep them in surround sound and not downmix them to 2.0. According to Super, I should be able to do that, however whenever I try out the final product, there's no streams attached.

                  Hi folks,

                  @ Clayton ... with your permission a Q for Anonymez ...

                  @ Anonymez ...

ffmpeg does not utilize DirectShow at all, however. And ffdshow and ffmpeg both use ffh264 for decoding.
How can I make sure that I don't have this problem ...

This FFMPEG & DirectShow problem pops up not only with DVDFlick but FAVC and now with d2mp.

Q: How do you configure ffdshow? Is there a GUI of some sort to make selections or set preferences?

                  Thanks,
                  G!

So I downloaded the beta version of the new DVDFlick... While it encodes the video now, I am having the same problem I have with ConvertXToDVD... In some spots on the video it will end up skipping. Plus the audio for the center channel is swapped with the left channel.
