help with audia please!!!!!

i have burned my dvd successfully and it works fine on my laptop but when i play it in my dvd player there is no audio can someone please help me.

a note on how i converted my avi file. all i did was add the files then converted it. i left all the options as it was set.
also when explaining please keep it simple because i am very new at this and do not have much understanding in this.

What about the DVD? Run MediaInfo on the first large vob file in the video_ts folder. If you are outputting to .iso output to a VIDEO_TS folder instead.

The vob file should show a size of 1,048,544 kb and usually has _1.vob at the end of the name. It should tell you what the audio format is.

Then look on your TV and DVD Player info and see if it can handle that format.
Not much more to it than that. 5.1 surround is downward compatible to Stereo so even if your TV doesn't play 5.1 Surround it should still work. If you have some DTS that's another story.

i dont really know how to read this. could you please tell me what the audio format is by reading this. also the file size is not as big as you said it would be does that matter? and if the audio format does not match my dvd and tv can i change the format so it does?

Looks like you have AC3 audio which should be fine. You need to look in your DVD manual and TV manual to see if it supports playing AC3 audio format. If it only supports .mp2 then it must be a pretty old player.

Find out what audio is supported by your set up. Then you can load the title set into AviDemux and convert the audio if you need to.

The first thing you have to find out is what audio types you can play.
Seems odd it wouldn't handle AC3 though. Is you stand-alone DVD player maybe 8 years old?

edit: what I would do to test is convert the audio to .mp2 and burn a test disc. If you get the same thing, works on laptop but not on stand-alone, then I think you have some hardware or firmware problem with the player or TV. .mp2 works on everything. It was the standard DVD audio before AC3 came out.

i burnt my dvd again an know the audio is there but it is messed up it is in a deep town and hard to make out and also off. what should i do?

I have no way to magically know what your hardware can play. I've suggested a couple of times you look in the manuals to see what type of audio is supported. You are on the scene. I can't do it from here. I would guess that you have some 6 channel audio trying to play on a system that can only do stereo. But that's just a guess. You need to get the information about your hardware.

when i burn the dvd again its audio is off from the videa and plays in a deep voice on my laptop. and i checked my tv and dvd player they are compatible. i think there is something wrong while it encodes the audio.

I already made the suggestion to change the audio to .mp2. Is this what you are talking about when you say "burn the dvd again?" or did you just burn the same encode as last time? Try it with .mp2 audio. If that doesn't work, you have hardware issues.

.mp2 should work with anything that can play DVD since it was the original format. Please post what you find out.

Plus if your setup can only handle stereo you probably won't tell the difference between it and .ac3. It's good to use .ac3 in case you enhance your audio playback but it's not earth shattering.
