I have Windows XP, nVidia geForce 3, and WinDVD, and was attempting to play a DVD throught the tv-out in dual-monitor mode, but the WinDVD window is blank when on the tv. Windows Media Player has the same problem, and gives an "analog copy protection error." I have tried disabling Macrovision, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Is there another form of copy protection in place here, and if so, how can I get rid of it? Any help would be appreciated.

Sony's " MAGIC GATE" which is incorporated into playstation 2 but can be defeated.
Some other companies are around doing the same as Macrovision but even the latest macrovision products can be disabled
Most consumer electronics products have inbuilt protection circuits in the now but simply by adding an older piece of equipment to your system you can be free of protection -
I have a different card (AIW 7500) but had a similar problem. It wouldn't show video on the TV unless the TV and Monitor both had the same refresh rate or TV was the primary display.
Also check your setting for "overlay". On the ATI hacked driver checking "theater mode" will play video full screen on the TV and any size on the monitor.Comment
