I am using ATI TV Wonder VE, but this technique should apply to everyone with a BrookTree8x8 tuner.
Use VirtualDub & the Bt8x8 Tweaker.
You must download 3.x or lower version of DScaler and copy the necessary files to the VirtualDub folder. The 'Burst Delay' can be adjusted to filter out that macrovision nastiness.

I know this is more of a workaround than a fix, but I think it might be useful to some people that dub. I am aware that dubbing a DVD is considered by some 'second rate' and some video quality freaks don't care for the filtering. I am also aware that this may be a 'known fix', but I did a search and did not find it posted here in this forum. No flames thanks. GL.
